On 12th April 2023, musician and social entrepreneur Mr. Nirgaman “Sound healing practitioner & Nada Yogi” Himalayan Nada organized a mini summer dhamma camp in Kirtipur under the guidance of Guru Bhante Sumanakitti — Buddhist Chaplain and Visiting Professor at the University of Southern California (USC), holder of a Master of Buddhist Counseling (HKU, Hong Kong) and a Master of Divinity (MDiv), California.

Held at Kirtipur Nagarmandap Siri Kirti Vihara, Kirtipur Nayabazar, the camp offered children a peaceful, joyful way to spend their holidays — a chance to discover new passions, learn moral and etiquette values, build lifelong friendships, and create memories to cherish forever.

What the children experienced

• Meditation: Yoga and sound bowl therapy
• Moral & etiquette: Pariyatti Sikshya
• Arts: Painting, colour combination, and an introduction to Pauwa art
• Life skills: Hospitality and table manners
• Activities: Talent show, plus an introduction to and showcase of musical instruments
• Games: Bagh Chal, chess, and traditional games
• Storytelling: Lessons on life and nature
• Outdoor activities, food (snacks, seasonal fruits and drinks)
• Special visitors: National and international teachers
• Daily photos and videos capturing every moment
• Certificates, tokens of love and gifts for every child

A historic first for children’s sound healing

A total of 50 children aged 4 to 12 took part. As a musician, Mr. Nirgaman introduced sound healing with the singing bowl and performed for the children across the 6 days of the camp. The response was overwhelmingly positive — the children simply wanted to do it again and again.

With decades of experience organizing events — including his signature event Nirantarta — Mr. Nirgaman brought real skill and heart to the camp. The result was a huge success and a truly memorable milestone in children’s sound healing, leaving him with a deeply rewarding, intangible experience.

Plans are already underway to hold the camp again in the future.
